Paul Merson questioned Antonio Conte’s tactics against Qarabag
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson says Antonio Conte was wrong to bring on Alvaro Morata in their 4-0 Champions League win over Qarabag on Wednesday.
He says Antonio Conte should have taken off Hazard and midfielder N’Golo Kante but not brought Morata on in their place.
“It was a training session,” Merson said of the ease of Chelsea’s win.
“You know what shocked me, when they’re winning easily and he puts Morata on.
“I think ‘what are you doing?’. Surely don’t put him on, take Kante off, take Hazard off.
“But that’s how easy it was, it was like a training session.
“That’s probably why he put him on.”
