Merson is backing Chelsea to secure three points at Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon

Chelsea will make the trip to Goodison Park on Saturday as Everton look to extend their unbeaten run to five games in the Premier League.

The defending champions were 2-0 winners against the Toffees back in August thanks to goals from Cesc Fabregas and Alvaro Morata.

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is backing Chelsea to ease to victory over Everton at Goodison Park to complete the double over the Toffees this season.

“It was a lovely goal that won it for Chelsea against Bournemouth,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“To overcome a setback like that late equaliser and then still win the game takes some doing. That will give them a real lift coming into this. Extra time would have been a killer.

“Everton have improved a lot, but they are due a slip up having put so much into recent matches. This is the sort of game that Chelsea will step up for.”
