Manchester United star, Paul Pogba immediately took to Instagram after last night’s 0-2 win over Newcastle United to post a picture of his injured leg with Jonjo Shelvey looking on and the headline under it read – “Caption this!”
It was clearly a jibe at the Magpies midfielder who should have been sent off with a red card after his horror challenge on Pogba. Shelvey was nowhere close to being in contact with the ball and lunged into the back of Pogba’s knees with open studs during a midfield tussle for possession.
Cries fell out from the away stands of the St James’ Park for an immediate sending off but Shelvey managed to get away without even a booking. Pogba could have been seriously hurt from the incident but fortunately did walk away with a cheeky smile.
The Manchester United faithful understandably are asking for the FA to take action on Shelvey as they rightly should. The 26-year-old’s behaviour looked like a malicious attempt at destroying the opposition’s winning tempo.
Pogba has been in sublime form this season after the departure of Jose Mourinho from Old Trafford. He had earlier posted a cryptic picture on social media after the Portuguese’s sacking with the exact same tag – “Caption this!” which was immediately taken down.
