Striker will reportedly take wage-cut

AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao is prepared to take a substantial wage-cut in order to join Chelsea this Summer after his season-long loan to Manchester United failed.

The Colombian was sent back to Monaco after he failed to impress at Old Trafford throughout the season, but he remains eager to stay in England and prove that he can cut it in the Premier League.

Falcao’s Reputation

Before moving to United, Falcao was labelled as one of the best strikers in the world, after showing that at Monaco, Atletico Madrid and FC Porto.

However, when it came to playing in the Premier League, it didn’t quite work out for the striker and after the final game of the season, he was sent back to France after Louis Van Gaal told him that there would be no permanent deal.

The Red Devils paid a ÂŁ6million loan-fee to Monaco for the deal and also paid Falcao’s ÂŁ265k-a-week wages, meaning the loan deal was rather expensive to the English outfit.

Striker Offered to Chelsea

Now, according to reports, Monaco will offer Falcao on a loan deal to Chelsea and would also be willing to take a pay-cut in order to complete the deal.

It’s believed the striker is prepared to take a ÂŁ100k-a-week pay-cut in order to get a move back to the Premier League so that he can prove himself in the country.

Striker Wanted

This would mean he would be earning around ÂŁ165k-a-week at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are in the market for a new striker after Didier Drogba confirmed his intentions are to leave the club this Summer with the need of regular first-team football.
