Ivan Rakitic has said that he is staying at Barcelona.
The Croatian has been linked with a move to Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea.
Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic has played down the rumours linking him with a move out of Nou Camp. The player has cleared the air about his speculated link with Manchester United and Chelsea in recent times and has said that he is going nowhere and staying put with the reigning La Liga champions.
Speaking to the media after Barcelona’s 6-1 routing of his former club Sevilla in the quarter-final of the Copa Del Rey, the Croatian ace said, “Since I’ve been here I do not know how many times I’ve left and I’m back. I’m more than happy here and my intention is to be here longer.”
However, the player also accepted the fact that his future is up in the air at Barcelona and that he is willing to pen down a contract renewal, “I gave the president a little nudge to see if he would wake up with my renewal.” The 30-year-old has been tipped to leave the club since the inclusion of Frenkie De Jong from Ajax, who will join the club next summer.
