Sky pundit fears for young star
Jamie Redknapp believes that Marcus Rashford should be ‘very worried’ if Jose Mourinho takes over at Manchester United.
Rashford has been one of the break-through talents of the season, scoring several important goals for the team. He was introduced during an injury crisis but, to his credit, has kept his place in the team since the return of players such as Wayne Rooney.
And Mourinho has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job since being sacked by Chelsea in December.
But Redknapp isn’t sure it would be a good appointment, given his reputation for snubbing young talent in favour of big-money signings.
“My heart says Manchester United have to get Jose Mourinho in now but my head is not so sure,” Redknapp told the Daiy Mail.
“If I put myself in Marcus Rashford’s shoes I’d be worried as Jose hasn’t got a great track record of giving youth a chance.”
However the former England international does admit United need a change of manager if they are going to have any chance of challenging for the Premier League title next term.
