Portuguese could return to Bernabeu if Chelsea sack him

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to take Jose Mourinho back at the Bernabeu if he is indeed sacked by Chelsea.

Despite winning the Premier League just months ago, the Blues have had a nightmare start to the new campaign, sitting 16th in the league after 10 games.

Chelsea have already lost five of their games in the league, which is two more than what they lost in the entirety of last season, putting severe pressure onto Mourinho.

Potential Replacements

According to reports, Roman Abramovich is already planning for life after the Portuguese, and has a list of potential candidates to replace him at Stamford Bridge.

Carlo Ancelotti, Guus Hiddink, Andre Villas-Boas, Brendan Rodgers and Antonio Conte have all been linked with taking over at the Bridge if Mourinho does go.

As for Mourinho, he’s already been in talks with Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco and Inter Milan according to reports.

However, a move back to Spain could be on the cards if he is sacked, with Madrid willing to offer him a job again.

Former-president Ramon Calderon believes Florentino Perez would try and lure Mourinho back to the Bernabeu despite Rafa Benitez taking over in the summer.

Madrid to offer job

He told beIN Sports: “If he is not anymore in Chelsea, I think Perez would be really willing to bring him back to Real Madrid.

“They tried last summer but it was not possible because he stayed at Chelsea. They tried for Joachim Loew, Jurgen Klopp, Mourinho then Benitez.

“If things do not work out for Benitez and they do not work out for Mourinho at Chelsea then I think Perez will look to bring him back.”
