Former English international and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has said that it will be difficult for Arsenal to sell their midfield maestro Mesut Ozil given his high wages. The former German international has not been able to win the confidence of manager Unai Emery and has been in and out of the side so far this season. The player has also been left out of the squad in their clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Southampton star said, “I think he is in big trouble, the manager doesn’t fancy him. He brought him on for 20 minutes at the weekend and he doesn’t fit the mould. Unless he shows energy and desire to get round the pitch. It won’t be easy to shift him because he is on such big money. He is a super talent but he needs to work harder and if he doesn’t I think he leaves. You can’t get him all of a sudden to be a hard-working midfielder. I don’t think he is this guy’s cup of tea. Mesut Ozil is the highest paid player and the biggest name and he is not scared to come in and say you aren’t in my time or on my bench. I don’t see a way back for him in this team. As a starter I think he moves on.”
