The 23-year-old is set to meet with the hierarchy at Roma this week after Fiorentina and Inter Milan failed to agree terms after personal talks with the Egyptian.
The Egypt international, who cost Chelsea £11million in January 2012, is desperate to leave Stamford Bridge after finding first-team opportunities limited under manager Jose Mourinho.
Serie A side Fiorentina were favourites to sign Salah on a permanent deal after the winger spending the second-half of last season on loan there. However, La Viola couldn’t agree personal terms with the attacking-midfielder but Roma are prepared to take the interest further.
Roma are weary of getting involved in a big-money battle with Fiorentina over the winger, but they are confident that they can get the deal over the line within the coming days.
