Southampton’s talented young defender Luke Shaw has denied that he wants to leave the club to sign for either Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea, as Shaw looks to repay the faith shown in him by both Nigel Adkins and now Maricio Pochettino, and commit his long term future to the South coast side.

The 18-year-old academy graduate has already established himself as a regular in the Southampton starting line up and in the England Under 21 set up as the younster looks set to have a real bright future in the game at such a young age, with his club Southampton, and the senior England side, as manager Roy Hodgson is a well known fan of the full back.

Shaw has starred in a Southampton side who are punching above their weight and currently sit third in the Premier League after a run of superb results, and confidence is high after Saturday’s emphatic win against newly promoted side Hull City, as the Saints rompted to a 4-1 victory.

Shaw joins a whole host of talented youngster’s, including both James Ward- Prowse and Jay Rodriguez, who have both made the breakthrough themselves over the past couple of years, following the Saints amazing rise from the lower reaches of League One, to the dizzy heights of the top end of the Premier League. Saints have had a trio of England call up’s in the last week, as Ricky Lambert , Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez have all made Hodgson’s squad.

Shaw recently put pen-to-paper on a new five-year deal at St Mary’s and has stated that he want’s to stay at Saints for the long run.

“I don’t really take notice of things that are written about me – it is frustrating at times, but I just laugh it off,” he told Southampton’s official matchday magazine. They (the media) don’t know anything because they aren’t around the training ground and in the dressing room with me.

“They should know that I’ve signed a contract at Southampton and I’m not even thinking about moving.

Shaw later added in the in depth interview…..

“There are a lot of people out there that like to twist things – especially on social media – but I’ve said a lot of times that I am happy here, so I’ll just carry on.

“I think people are starting to realise what sort of a club Southampton is. We are young and ambitious, and we want to go places in the next couple of years.”

Great news for Southampton supporters then……
