Southampton have put a £40 million price tag upon their prized fullback Luke Shaw, amid interest from Manchester United.

United presumed, like many of us that they had wrapped up a £30 million deal to take the 18 year old to Old Trafford.

However, recently appointed Saints manager Ronald Koeman has thrown a real spanner in the works in order to try and keep him on the South Cost.

Shaw, who was a regular for Southampton last season at Left back, broke into the side in 2012/13 season, and turned many heads with his style of play, attracting interest from the big European clubs.

The defender will make his World Cup debut tonight, as England will play their final match of this summer’s showpiece, with a game against Costa Rica.

Chelsea haven’t given up hope of signing Shaw, and will use the David Luiz money to table a bid.
