Chelsea’s Thiago Silva made history by becoming the club’s oldest-ever striker in a thrilling 4-4 draw against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. The 39-year-old defender showed off his acrobatic ability with a brilliantly drilled angled header off Conor Gallagher’s corner.

Silva’s celebration was as memorable, as he unleashed a huge knee slide accompanied by a shout heard around the world. Aside from the euphoric high, Silva set a new club record at the age of 39 years and 52 days, surpassing Dick Spence, who had held the previous record since 1947, aged 38 years and 282 days.

This season, Silva not only broke Chelsea records, but also earned himself as the one of Premier League’s oldest goal scorer. Silva’s services to the Blues are not only timely, but also historic, with six goals in his Blues career.

Silva has become the league’s oldest goalscorer this season, and as he continues to defy aging, he seeks to surpass Teddy Sheringham’s Premier League record of 40 years and 264 days. Silva is fourth on that list, behind only Sheringham, Dean Windass, and Ryan Giggs.

Thiago Silva’s recent achievement adds to his remarkable football career, which has been filled with spectacular events.
