Coming in at second is another eight-goal winning margin, and this time it was Newcastle United hammering Sheffield Wednesday at St James Park back in 1999.
The win came in September and it was actually Newcastle’s first win of that season. Not a bad way to start winning.
Alan Shearer was the man of the moment, scoring five goals, but it was certainly a game to forget for Wednesday.
The Magpies are still in the Premier League, but their opponents on this day are currently in the Championship.
