Top ten worst goalkeepers ever

10) Carlo Nash

He was only ever a No. 1 twice in his career. He only made 243 appearances in a 21-year career. He started in the Academy at Manchester United but quit at the age of 14 because he wanted to focus on his education… He was a range of clubs whom he never actually made an appearance for such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, Everton, Stoke City, and Norwich City. He is now a goalkeeping coach at League One side Oldham Athletic. Carlo Nash is one of the worst goalkeepers ever.

9) Stuart Taylor

If you think of a backup keeper instantly who has never really had a shot at starting, Stuart Taylor would probably come to mind. Saying that though, he has two Premier League winners medals with two different clubs! He only made 72 competitive appearances in a 16-year career. He was an Arsenal Academy product but was only the third choice at best. He moved to Manchester City later in his career but couldn’t even become a second-choice keeper at the Etihad.

8) Vince Bartram

Bartram was an understudy to David Seaman at Arsenal. The Englishman was a flop at the Gunners and only made 11 appearances in his four seasons at Highbury. Bartram suffered a career-ending injury when colliding with fellow goalkeeper Tony Warner! He is now a development goalkeeping coach at Southampton. But he is still considered one of the worst goalkeepers ever.

7) Richard Kingson

Kingson has actually been first choice at various clubs he has been at but has always failed to live up to his name of being Ghana’s No. 1 and he surprisingly made 90 appearances whilst also scoring for his national side. In 2012, his wife emerged on a Nigerian television show claiming that she was a witch and that she made him impotent with the use of black magic. He is 38 years old and still plays for Great Olympics in Ghana’s second tier.

6) Gabor Kiraly

He made over 600 appearances in his club career which is very good. However, his attire was definitely not. He turned up every single game wearing grey tracksuit bottoms in front of thousands of people. He played for a Crystal Palace side that got relegated and fans often sang “Tracksuit from Matalan” whenever he played. He is 40 years of age and still plays for Szombathelyi Haladas in his native Hungary. Watch & Bet Football Here =>

5) Tony Warner

He played for 20 clubs in his 21-year career. Warner will always be remembered for his howlers when playing for Fulham like when he let an easy Mido shot bounce off his chest and into the net. It must say something about your career when you have only played for Trinidad and Tobago twice in the space of five years! His last club was Accrington Stanley in 2015 and he failed to make any appearances for the League Two outfit.

4) Stephen Bywater

It is official that he is in the record books as part of the worst-ever team in the history of the Premier League. Bywater was Derby County’s first-choice keeper when they were in the Premier League and he conceded more than 40 goals in just 19 games. He is only 35-years-old though and has been at eight different clubs since leaving Derby in 2011. He is now back up at Burton Albion.

3) Ricardo

Everyone always forgets about the £2.5million signing for Manchester United in 2002. Ricardo not brought in as a number two but as a number three. This was to be understudy to Roy Carroll, who was understudy to Fabien Barthez. Ricardo only played once for the Red Devils in his three-year spell at Old Trafford and gave away a penalty straight away with his first touch.

2) Peter Enckelman

Peter Enckelman came up with probably the most famous howler in world football when playing for Aston Villa. His embarrassing moment came in the Midlands derby when an Olof Mellberg throw-in trickled under his foot and into the goal. He also only made 150 appearances in his 19-year career. He will always be remembered for that error rather than his footballing days.

He played 12 times for Finland, probably when Jussi Jaaskelainen couldn’t be bothered turning up!

1) Massimo Taibi

No questions asked, the worst keeper to ever have been in professional football has to be Massimo Taibi. Sir Alex Ferguson signed the ‘highly-rated’ goalkeeper for more than £9m and the Scot was a keen admirer of the Italian. Taibi put in a man-of-the-match performance on his debut against Liverpool but from then on it went downhill for him.

Taibi played against Chelsea and conceded five goals in the game at Stamford Bridge. His career at Manchester United was over when they played Southampton at Old Trafford. Matt Le Tissier had the ball in the middle of the park and he took a shot from around 30 yards out which then pea-rolled along the turf towards the goal and then disaster struck…

Taibi went to pick the ball up on his knees and it went straight through his hands and trickled into the back of the next. Taibi never played for Manchester United again. Watch & Bet Football Here =>
