Tottenham Hotspur is about to reward Japhet Tanganga emergence with a new contract.

Jose Mourinho is certainly keen after featuring him in 11 senior games since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino.

We have already seen several players sign extensions under the new boss – Eric Dier, Oliver Skipp and Maurizio Pochettino. Toby Alderweirald’s services were already retained last year in December. Now is the time to secure the back with lots of incomings expected this summer. Mourinho is guaranteed to demand a new set of players more suited to his playing style.

Tottenham have already suffered a huge loss in Jan Vertonghen, who has left a free agent after the conclusion of his deal. Serge Aurier has also been lacking in quality at right-back, a position Tanganga is tipped to take up in the future. Mourinho is a fan of the England U20 international. His speed, decisive tackling and ability up front is greatly promising of a star future in North London.

The 19-year-old’s contract is due to run out in June 2021 and there are talks of a four-year extension. Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano claims that official announcements are to be made soon. Tottenham did manage to qualify for Europe after all, finish sixth and above Wolves and Sheffield United.
