The player has been heavily linked with summer exit
Jerome Boateng joined Bayern Munich from Manchester City for a fee of €13.5 million on a four-year deal in 2011. He has been a mainstay in the defense since joining the club, making 260 appearances and winning six Bundesliga titles and a Champions League to go with numerous other trophies.
The German International was a key player for the Bundesliga giants last season, making 31 appearances in all competitions and helped them to win their 6th consecutive league title.
The centre-back though cast some doubt over his future by admitting that he may look for new challenges and could potentially leave the club this summer. However, he is contracted with the club until the summer of 2021.
The defender was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United as Jose Mourinho prioritized signing a top class centre-back. But the move never materialized as the Premier League transfer deadline passed.
However, with the European transfer window still open until the end of the month he has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Earlier Club’s manager Niko Kovac insisted that he is confident that Boateng will stay at the club.
“I can’t tell you what’s going to happen, but I am very confident about Bayern considering the way the team is conducting itself.
“Right now, I am just assuming all the players will be here in September.
“I am very comfortable about the situation, the squad is complete.”
Now president Uli Hoeness claims that he doesn’t sees him leaving this summer amid transfer links.
Speaking after Bastian Schweinsteiger’s farewell game in Munich, Hoeness told reporters as quoted by Goal: “If you want to hear my feeling tonight, I would say that he will stay in Munich.”
