Juventus gave United boss Louis van Gaal a deadline to make a bid for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal, which expires today, while new Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri insists his player will not be making the Premier League switch.

This setback has left United looking at other options as the transfer windows draws to an end and the new premier League season kicks off.

And reportedly the Dutchman is looking to Milan’s Fredy Guarin to bolster his midfield options as they begin the fight to re-build their season.

The Red Devils have brought some new faces to Old Trafford this summer such as Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, amidst claims that van Gaal is having a widespread clear out of the squad, after last season’s poor finish.

The new Dutch manager is also thought to still be after Netherlands defender Daley Blind, but is still looking for an extra midfielder.
