Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has admitted that he is looking to sign a defender before the window closes.
Speaking to the media after Uniteds win against Inter Milan last night, Van Gaal has admitted that he is willing to do whatever it takes to bring in a new arrival to Old Trafford in the form of a centre-back.
The boss however, has said how impressed he has been with youngsters Keane and Blackett after some good performaces during the tour.
“I am looking at the defenders we have first,” he said.
“And, when you see our three matches, we are doing well, I think. But it is right that we are looking for defenders, because a lot of defenders have gone.
“We have to replace them but I also like Michael Keane and Tyler Blackett.”
United have been continously linked with Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen and Dortmund’s Mats Hummels.
It appears unlikely that Hummels will be moving on as Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that none of his stars will be sold.
