Southampton midfielder admits move would ‘be nice’

Arsenal have been put on red alert after Southampton star Victor Wanyama admitted that it would ‘be nice’ if he could move to The Gunners this Summer.

The Kenyan international has been superb for The Saints throughout the season, and has proven to be a great buy from SPL side Celtic a few years ago.

The 23-year-old came to England back in 2013 after securing a ÂŁ12million move from the Scottish champions, and since then, he has gone on to make 43 Premier League appearances for The Saints, proving to be a pivotal part of their midfield.

Midfield Exodus?

Wanyama has created an impressive partnership alongside Morgan Schneiderlin in the heart of the midfield, but both could be set for Summer exits.

Schneiderlin has also been strongly linked with Arsenal, but in recent reports, it’s suggested that Manchester United could be his favoured destination.

However, a move to North London could be on the cards for the Kenyan international after he admitted that a move to Arsenal would be nice for him.

Wanyama Drops Hint

Speaking on TV in his homeland, Wanyama said: “It would be nice to move to Arsenal.

“But at this moment such decisions can only be made by Southampton and that is where my concentration as a player is.”

Arsenal are in the market for a strong centre-midfielder despite the shock rise of Francis Coquelin.

The Gunners want to add another big midfielder to play alongside and also compete with the Frenchman after he emerged as a real talent halfway through the 2014/2015 campaign.
