Hammers want to lure Chelsea captain to Olympic Stadium

West Ham United are interested in signing Chelsea skipper John Terry, according to reports.

The Blues legend is set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, ending his long-term association with the club. Terry announced after the MK Dons game that he hadn’t been offered a new deal, meaning he will be leaving on a free in the summer.

Due to his age and the club policy, Chelsea would have only offered Terry a one-year extension, but they’ve decided against offering him a new deal, making him a free agent.

West Ham Interested

He has been linked with a move to the MLS and also Qatar, but according to reports, West Ham are interested in signing him.

The Hammers are moving from Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium over the summer, and they want to have Terry in their squad ahead of next season.

However, Slaven Bilic and co. face an uphill task of trying to convince Terry to join them as he’s already outlined his desires not to play for another Premier League team.
