Zinedine Zidane recently ‘bumped into’ Paul Pogba at Dubai, which fuelled the rumours of the Frenchman moving to Real Madrid.
Pogba, who has been nursing an ankle injury in the Far East, happened to meet his compatriot. However, Zidane has rubbished claims that the move was a planned one, labelling it a ‘complete coincidence’.
“It was complete chance. I was there and he was too,” Zidane said at a press conference on Friday.
“Since we know one another, we spoke to each other. I’m not going to tell you what we talked about; that’s private.”
“We’ve known each other for a long time. We bumped into each other, and we stopped and talked.”
Pogba’s uncertain future at Old Trafford saw him being linked to Real Madrid this summer. The Frenchman and his agent Mino Raiola both confirmed his desire to leave the club, but United’s mammoth pricing blocked any move out of the club. Zidane is said to be a fervent admirer of Pogba, who has been on his radar for quite some time.
