‘Mourinho’s right, your fans are s***e’. Heard that chant?
Well away fans used to sing it frequently at Stamford Bridge, when Mourinho was the Blues boss, after Jose Mourinho launched a scathing attack on the Chelsea’s home support.
Following a tough home win, Mourinho accused the fans of not being loud enough and not making it feel like a home game.
He said:Â “At this moment it’s difficult for us to play at home though, because playing here is like playing in an empty stadium. I was today looking around and it was empty, but not in terms of people because it was obviously full. That’s what is frustrating.”
And Mourinho has done the exact same thing at Old Trafford since becoming Manchester United manager. He has critiscised the atmosphere at Old Trafford and claimed the fans were’t giving their full support.
He said recently:”I think Old Trafford, in spite of being a quiet stadium, the pitch is big, the grass is nice and obviously the players feel very comfortable playing here.
“In here, the atmosphere is a bit quiet and there is not very (much enthusiasm).”
The fans are often one of the most used Jose Mourinho scapegoats.
