Who won the 2024 IPL season?
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title in the 2024 season. They secured an emphatic victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final match held on May 26, 2024, at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
In the final, SRH won the toss and opted to bat first but were bowled out for a modest total of 113 runs in 18.3 overs. KKR’s bowlers delivered a stellar performance, with Andre Russell taking 3 wickets for 19 runs, and Mitchell Starc contributing 2 wickets for 14 runs.
KKR chased down the target comfortably, scoring 114 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in just 10.3 overs, thus winning the match by eight wickets.
Mitchell Starc was named the Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance, while Sunil Narine was honored as the Player of the Season, having scored 488 runs and taken 17 wickets throughout the tournament.
This victory marked KKR’s third IPL title, adding to their previous championships in 2012 and 2014.
