On the men’s side, the Serbian and multiple champion Novak Djokovic managed to crush all opposition and finally beat the Australian Nick Kyrgios in the final 4–6, 6–3, 6–4, 7–6(7–3).
Djokovic became the fifth man in the Open Era to record a streak of at least four consecutive titles at one major. By reaching his 32nd men’s singles major final, he surpassed the all-time record he had jointly held with Roger Federer. Later, he crossed Federer by winning the French Open this year.
The winner on the women’s side was a big surprise as Elena Rybakina beat Ons Jabeur 3–6, 6–2, 6–2 in the final of the 2022 event.
