German winger Brandt on Milan’s radar
AC Milan are plotting ways to strengthen their squad for the summer already with Brandt on their radar.
Since appointing Gennaro Gattuso ,things have changed around for the Italian giants. With 5 points adrift from UEFA Champions League Qualifications, they are in hunt for a top 4 finish and get back into the Champions League. They are also in the Coppa Italia final.
Despite completely overhauling of the team last year,Milan still have some shortcomings especially on their wings.Players like Calhanoglu and Suso almost played all the games due to lack of depth in the squad.
According to Calciomercato,Milan will watch Bayer Leverkusen starlet Julian Brandt in action for Germany next week when they take on Brazil in Berlin.Despite having a contract which only runs until 2019, it’s added that the 21-year-old could still command a fee of around €25 m-€30 m this summer, and so it remains to be seen if Milan follow up their reported interest.
Brandt can play either in right flank or left flank as well as centrally and has been in decent form this season. He has scored 9 goals and assisted 6 in 31 appearances. He also has 13 caps for Germany which is quite a impressive feat to achieve at such a young age.
