Gunners to make January move for Sporting Lisbon star
Arsenal are set to renew their interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho in order to deal with the injury problems at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners will be without Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin for the next few months, and with Mikel Arteta also injured, the midfield options are looking very slim for Arsene Wenger.
As it stands, Wenger may opt to use Mathieu Flamini and Aaron Ramsey as a central partnership to fill the void of Cazorla and Coquelin, but it’s believed transfers will take place in January.
Arsenal will renew their interest in Carvalho, a player they wanted over the summer, and it’s reported they’ll bid as high as £35million.
The Portuguese midfielder has hit a stumbling block with his current club due to contract talks breaking down, and he could be ready to leave in order to join the Premier League outfit.
Carvalho Fond of Arsenal
The 23-year-old has recently admitted his fondness to Arsenal, and it’s believed a deal could take place in the New Year.
