Who could replace Tim Sherwood?
Aston Villa parted company with Tim Sherwood on Sunday, following a woeful run of results, culminating in a 2-1 defeat at home to Swansea City at Villa Park.
Sherwood lasted just under a year at the helm of the second city club, who currently are 19th in the Premier League standings, after six straight defeats.
So, who could be in line for the vacant managerial post at Aston Villa? Here at SillySeason, we’ll take a look at five potential appointments.
Brendan Rodgers
Recently sacked Brendan Rodgers will be keen to return to the world of management, having been relieved of his duties at Liverpool earlier in October.
Having took over the Liverpool post in the summer of 2012, the Northern Irishman almost landed the Anfield outfit a first Premier League crown in 2013/14 – eventually finishing runners up to Manchester City.
However, Rodgers struggled to recapture the form of two-years ago in recent seasons, and left Liverpool in tenth, following a 1-1 draw with Merseyside rivals, Everton.
Despite somewhat struggling at the Reds, he could be an ideal replacement to help Villa out of the mess they are in, having tasted success at Swansea City.
