Roman Abramovich eyeing AS Monaco manager as potential replacement

Chelsea could approach AS Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim if they choose to sack Jose Mourinho.

Jardim isn’t the biggest name being thrown around the media as it stands, but his cheap compensation package has attracted Roman Abramovich, who is weighing up the options already just in case the club do sack Mourinho.

Chelsea have had a torrid start to the new campaign, losing six out of their 11 Premier League matches, sparking speculation that Mourinho has a week to save his job.

According to reports, Abramovich has given him the Dynamo Kiev and Stoke City game to turn things around at Stamford Bridge.

With big names like Carlo Ancelotti, Guus Hiddink, Fabio Capello and Diego Simeone all previously mentioned, the latest will come as a surprise to many Blues fans.

French Reports

A well-known French journalist has tweeted about Chelsea’s interest in Jardim and he’s admitted that Abramovich could be interested in luring him to England.

Nicolas Vilas said: “In the event of departure from Mourinho, Chelsea, Abramovitch would like to afford Jardim and could release 10 M € to Monaco.”

The Venezuelan manager would only cost the Premier League side £7.1million in compensation, which is a considerable amount less than the likes of Simeone.
