France star Nabil Fekir reveals why he opted for Lyon stay
France star has revealed the reasons he signed a new contract with Lyon rather than transferring to Arsenal
Fekir, 21, penned a deal earlier today which will keep him with the French club until 2020.
The talented midfielder was linked with a move to Arsenal before committing his future to Hubert Fournier’s side.
However, he snubbed a potential move to the Emirates in order to stay with his home-town team, with Gunners chief Arsene Wenger reportedly being a big admirer.
Big Decision
Speaking after the announcement of his new deal, Fekir expressed his delight at penning a new contract and revealed that he extended his stay with Les Gones because he wants to take the club forward.
“I want to thank the President and my agent have made ​​every effort so that I prolonged,” he told Lyon’s official website.
“Everyone is happy. I’ll be able to evolve more serenely.
“It was an easy decision. This is my heart club.
“I want to help her, to take her to above. There was no hesitation. I wanted to continue the adventure here.”
