Juventus have decided to keep midfielder Sami Khedira in the end.

The Serie A champions have been keen to sell the German before the European transfer window closes on September 2.

Juventus have brought in two new central-midfielders this summer in Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot, and it is thought Khedira‘s playing time would be dramatically reduced.

However, after he rejected several transfers this summer, the club have now opted to have him for the upcoming Italian campaign. According to Sky Sport Italia, the player is no longer on the market, after convincing new boss Maurizio Sarri of his worth.

Khedira has rejected a move to Turkish sides Besiktas and Fenerbahce, alongside an unnamed MLS club. Wolves also made an approach in the hope of bringing the 32-year-old to England, as he took the advances of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in the hope that Arsenal would launch a late move for his services.

But with the Gunners opting against submitting a bid, it looks like the former Real Madrid man won’t be leaving the Old Lady any time soon following these recent reports. It will be interesting to see whether Sarri’s plans for Khedira change during the upcoming weeks, or whether the German will spend the next 12 months fighting for his place in Juve’s starting line-up.
