Capello could replace Arsene Wenger this summer

Former England Coach Fabio Capello has emerged as shock replacement for Arsene Wenger this summer according to Daily Star.

Capello left his role with Chinese club Jiangsu Suning by mutual agreement this week. He had been in the charge for the club since june last year. But after a poor start to the season with only 3 points from first three leagues games and currently languishing 12th in the league has seen him to leave the club. The Italian will be replaced by Romanian Cosmin Olaroiu who has agreed a three-year contract.

With Capello’s exit, he has been linked with a move to Arsenal with Wenger’s future in doubt. Arsenal are having a very poor season in all terms and most likely to miss Champions League qualification, many believes Wenger will finally leave Arsenal this summer. Arsenal are already looking for his replacement which includes Thomas Tuchel and Carlo Ancelloti.

And according to Ladbrokes, Capello’s sudden availability has urged odds to be slashed. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said-

“It’s a new name in the mix but at 9/1, we’re far from writing Capello off when it comes to Arsenal replacing Wenger.”

Ex-Borussia Dortmund chief Thomas Tuchel remains the clear 6/4 favourite to succeed the long-serving Wenger.

Capello has formerly managed giants like Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan. The 71 year old has also managed England National team from 2008-2012.
