Steven Gerrard has said that he is happy with Rangers’ performance against Cowdenbeath.

The Gers won their Scottish Cup encounter at Central Park in the fifth round of the tournament.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has said that he is happy with his side’s performance against Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup. The Gers won the contest by 3-1 and went into the fifth round of the tournament in their clash at Central Park. Andy Halliday, Lassana Coulibaly and Kyle Lafferty scored the goals for their side while David Cox pulled one back for the hosts.

Speaking to the media after the match, the former Liverpool ace said, “I’m just pleased to get through. We’ve come through healthy and those are the two main things. I had the chance to rest certain people for the weekend and fixtures coming up.”

However, Gerrard also said that he was disappointed with a few of the players in his side as well. In his criticism, he said, “I thought it was a professional job. I was pleased with the first half, not so pleased with the second half. I thought we got sloppy and complacent. We were nervy at times and gave them opportunities where we may have been punished on a different night. Credit to Cowdenbeath, they played a game for 90 minutes. We played for 45. But got the job done.”
