According to reports from Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Juventus are willing to make a bid of €70  million bid for Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt.

De Ligt was an important reason why Ajax won a domestic double and reached the Champions semi-finals last season. Ajax’s 19-year old skipper netted 7 goals and provided 4 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.

De Ligt’s performances drew attention from several of the best clubs in the world. These included, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Juventus, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Liverpool. Ajax boss Erik ten Hag said that De Ligt would move to either Barcelona or Bayern Munich while De Ligt’s father said that a move to Juventus was possible.

Recent reports claimed that De Ligt would join Barcelona or PSG with a report from Spanish media network Cadenar Ser stating that De Ligt has rejected Barcelona despite the club reaching an agreement with Ajax.

Now, De Telegraaf believes that Juventus are interested in signing De Ligt. De Ligt himself stated that Cristiano Ronaldo asked him to join Juventus following the UEFA Nations League Final between Portugal and Netherlands.

Juventus have a pretty decent defense with two terrific centre-backs in Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci. However, both defenders are above 30 and keeping the bigger picture in mind, Juve are eager to sign Matthijs de Ligt.
