Liverpool are hoping to swiftly complete a deal to sign Villarreal forward, Luciano Vietto in the summer, according to reports in Spain.
However, there could be a stumbling block to the deal, with the 21-year-old revealing his desire to sign for fellow Spanish side, Barcelona.
But Liverpool, who have been scouting the 12-goal player all campaign, are hoping that Barcelona’s transfer-embarge could convince him to make the move to English shores this summer.
The Argentine has admitted that he would love to play alongside compatriot Lionel Messi, in an interview with a Spanish Newspaper.
‘Everybody dreams of being able to play alongside Messi,’ he told Spanish newspaper Ole.
‘But, genuinely, the transfer speculation is something that I take in my stride. I’m just concentrating on Villarreal.
‘I use all of these rumours as motivation to keep pushing myself to improve. I have no doubt that if I keep doing well everything will come in its own time.’
