Mauricio Pochettino has accepted FA’s improper charge of conduct and has also apologised to referee Mike Dean.

Pochettino had an on field argument with Dean and the other match officials following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 loss to Burnley. Pochettino and his assistant Jesus Perez surrounded the referee and the confrontation lasted for a few long minutes.

The Argentine manager was destined to face FA charge following his behaviour and has now decided to accept his charge. Dean was supposed to officiate Chelsea’s home game against Spurs but will now not participate in that match.

The decision could be made keeping in mind of the current situation. Pochettino said, I accept the charge.

“I apologise to Mike Dean. I cannot behave in that way and of course, I apologise.

“Watching my behaviour afterwards on video, I need to accept the charge from the FA. I need to apologise to Mike Dean, I cannot behave in that way. It is not the way to behave.

“My behaviour was public and now I want to apologise in a public way. I need to apologise to him and all of the officials.”
