6) Nicolas Otamendi to Manchester City (£32.4million)
The first of Manchester City‘s three mega-signings is centre-back Nicolas Otamendi.
The defender made it public knowledge that he wanted to leave Valencia, and it looked all-but certain that he’d join Manchester United.
However, at the last minute, their local-rivals sneaked in and signed the Argentine from under their noses for just over £32million.
Despite not starting for Manuel Pellegrini yet since his arrival, Otamendi could be a crucial player in City‘s season as they look to win back the Premier League title.
He’s only the third most expensive signing City made this summer though.
