Arsenal target wants England move

0

Toulouse defender Serge Aurier has admitted that he would love to play in the Premier League, but has confirmed that no deal is in place to join his boyhood club, Arsenal.

The Ivory Coast international, who starred in Brazil for his country, was reportedly on his way to the Emirates Stadium in order to replace Bacary Sagna, but that move is now unlikely as Arsene Wenger has turned his attentions to Newcastle United right-back Matheiu Debuchy.

The Frenchman is set to sign for Arsenal within the next few days, which has essentially ended Aurier’s dream-move to Arsenal, and he has admitted that a move to the Premier League is what he wants in his future.

‘People say that there was an agreement for me to join Arsenal, that I had already signed,’ the Toulouse man told Foot Mercato.

‘That is not true. All that I can say is that England is the league I like the most. Things are clear. I have always preferred a move to England, because it is the league that suits me the best.

‘At the moment, I have not given my agreement to any club, whoever they might be and am therefore free to talk to whoever I want.

‘To play in England is my dream, but sometimes dreams do not come true.’

It’s believed Arsenal wanted Debuchy over Aurier because of age, and as the Newcastle defender is older, Wenger thought that would be good for youngsters Hector Bellerin and Carl Jenkinson.

Barcelona’s deal to sign Luis Suarez will be done by Friday!

0

Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague believes Barcelona’s £75 million deal for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez will be completed before the weekend. The striker who is serving a four month ban from football after his bight on Chiellini looks set for a move to the Catalan club.

This comes after sports shop Futbol Mania starting selling shirts that donned ‘L.Suarez 9’. This has increased rumours that current Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez who wears the number 9 shirt is close to a move to Arsenal.

Balague said to Sky Sports, ‘Liverpool have given up on him and the figure that Barcelona need to pay is between £70m and £80m. In any case, that is as much as Liverpool wanted. There seems to be an early payment of 40m euros which Barcelona is waiting for the sale of Alexis Sanchez to be able to say ‘here is the money’. But in any case it is going to happen and Luis Suarez’s family expect it to be confirmed by the end of this week.’

The case for Liverpool now is to find a suitable replacement to fill the void left by Suarez when the forward leaves for the Nou Camp.

Arsenal closing in on deals for Loic Remy and Alexis Sanchez

0

Arsenal are closing in on a deal for QPR striker Loic Remy. The French International spent the whole of last season on loan at Newcastle United and is now set to depart Loftus Road this summer. Arsenal have been keen on signing the 27-year-old for some time now, and his £8 million pound buy-out clause in his contract has sparked even further interest from Arsene Wenger.

Remy netted 14 goals last term and would be a good bolster in The Gunner’s frontline. According to recent reports, QPR and Arsenal have nearly come to an agreement regarding Remy’s transfer to The Emirates, but it is understood that the Frenchman is yet to agree terms with the North London side.

Meanwhile, it is believed that The Gunners are coming close to completing a deal for Barcelona starlet Alexis Sanchez, which would take a large £30 chunk out of North London side’s transfer budget.

Lille tell Arsenal price for Kalou has doubled

0

Arsene Wenger is looking for striker reinforcements for the new season as currently he only has Olivier Giroud as a recognised striker at The Emirates. The Arsenal boss thought he’d be able to get Salomon Kalou for a bargain price of £2.5 million as that is what he was available for in the January transfer window due to a clause in the Ivorian’s contract.

However Lille have told Arsenal that the strikers price tag has doubled and that they now value the forward at £5 million. Wenger will be tempted to just agree to Lille’s wishes as numerous teams are interested in the forward who bagged 16 goals and 5 assists in Ligue 1 last season.

North London rivals Tottenham hold an interest in the striker along with Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton and big spending French side Monaco. Roma are also interested and they are reportedly ready to meet Lille’s £5 million valuation of the forward.

However Kalou prefers a move back to England with Arsenal being his preferred destination, putting Arsene Wenger in the driving seat. The forward who won the Champions League when he was at Chelsea in 2012 has become a big hit in France. Prompting the Gunners to attempt to sign the striker.

Liverpool prepare to sell Lucas Leiva to help fund Lovren transfer

0

Liverpool are preparing to sell Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva to fund a possible move for Southampton defender Dejan Lovren.  The Reds have had a £20 million bid for the Croatian International declined by The Saints however the St Mary’s club have told Liverpool that £25 million is enough for the club to part ways with the 25-year-old.

The player has demanded a move away from St Mary’s and has even threatened not to turn up to pre-season training but Southampton will not shift their valuation of the Croatian.

Liverpool are hoping to sell Lucas Leiva to fund the Croatian’s move to Anfield and according to reports in Italy, Napoli are closing in on a move for the 27-year-old, but only want the Brazilian on loan with the option to buy later.

Liverpool are happy to have open talks regarding a possible loan to Italy for the Brazilian, but would rather sell the player outright to gain the extra funds for the move immediately. It is understood that Inter Milan are also interested in the 27-year-old, but it is unknown which club will meet the Merseyside club’s demands for the player. If a transfer of Lucas Leiva completes a transfer elsewhere, it is likely that Lovren will be arriving at Anfield later this transfer window.

With his future in the air, an un-named Ivory Coast team-mate has said this about his countryman’s future:

“He has accumulated too many grudges against [Manchester City’s] leaders and he will not stay with them,” said the unnamed player.

“He will do everything to ensure his departure this summer.”

However, the English champions are set to knock back any formal offers that come in for the Ivorian, with Chelsea and Liverpool reportedly monitoring the situation.

City also expect the midfielder to go on their pre-season tour with them to USA later this month.

West Ham make £12m Konoplyanka bid

0

24 year-old Yevhen Konoplyanka almost made a move to Anfield back in January and has since been heavily monitored by Manchester United and Tottenham.

The Reds failed in their 11th hour bid and the two clubs were quick to criticise each other for a deal not being agreed.

But after West Ham have begun bringing in very attacking minded players, they have targeted Konoplyanka as the missing piece in their attack, which could see them rise up the table if they perform well.

It is reported that the Hammers have activated the Ukrainian’s release clause but a deal is far from being reached as of late.

Konoplyanka has stated that he is keen to play in the Champions League next season however which is something that his current club Dnipro can whereas West Ham can’t.

The winger has also said that he would rather stay in Ukraine and play his football there than move to the Premier League. Although this statement was mad a while back, his views may have changed as the summer transfer window re-opens.

West Ham have already brought in some talent in the shape of Cheikhou Kouyate, Mauro Zarate and Aaron Cresswell who all moved to Upton Park within the last month.
