Portugal League Winners History
The Primeira Liga is he top professional division in Portugal. It was founded in 1934 as an experimental league and eight teams have since then won the prestigious trophy.

Who won Primeira Liga in 2022?
FC Porto is the defending champion, having won the Primeira Liga for the 30thtime and their first crown since the 2001–02 season the previous season.
This season saw the return of full capacity crowds after the final third of the 2019–20 season and the entire 2020–21 season were held with limited or no attendance due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic in Portugal.

Who won Primeira Liga in 2021?
Due to the delayed end of the previous season caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020–21 Primeira Liga began later than usual, on 18 September 2020, and ended on 19 May 2021.
This was the fourth season in which video assisted referees were used in the Primeira Liga (VAR). Except for each team’s staff and employees, there was little or no attendance in the stadiums, as was the situation at the end of the previous season.
Sporting CP won their 19th title on May 11, 2021, with a 1–0 home win over Boavista, their first trophy since the 2001–02 season. It was also the first title won by a team other than Benfica or Porto since that season.

The 2019–20 Primeira Liga season marked the 86th season of the Primeira Liga, Portugal’s premier professional competition for association football clubs.
Benfica were the defending champions, having won their 37th league title the season before. Paços de Ferreira and Famalico were promoted from the second-tier LigaPro for the 2018–19 season, while Gil Vicente were promoted immediately from the third-tier Campeonato de Portugal for the same season due to a court judgement.
Porto won their 29th league title with two games remaining on 15 July 2020, defeating Sporting CP 2–0 at home.
