Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a big character.
His time in any club has always seen the story spun with Zlatan as a protagonist. While such a storyline has scared the opponents and made him a darling to the fans, his team-mates have not necessarily enjoyed it.
One man who has clearly refused to join the Zlatan fan club is Sebastien Lletget.
He was Zlatan’s team mate at LA Galaxy and does not have too many happy memories of the Swedish superstar. Now that Zlatan is gone, Lletget feels the whole team has breathed a sigh of relief.
“There’s definitely a better feel around the place for sure,” Lletget said on BSI: The Podcast this week. “As far as chemistry, that’s only going to build with time.”
“You couldn’t be free,” he said. “It was super frustrating. … You feel like you want to literally take your boots off and just walk off the field.”
The incident between Zlatan and Lletget went viral last year when the big Swede was caught on camera pushing off the player from a set-piece wall.
“It’s tough to play against him and tougher to play with him,” said Lletget.
Zlatan it seems may have won his popularity contest in USA with the fans but failed to earn the respect of his team-mates.
