Crystal Palace Players Salaries 2017

As you can see, there is a large range of wages at Crystal Palace. The more important players are on the higher wages, and the new signing, Christian Benteke, is on the highest wage the club has ever paid. Other notable wages are £110,000 for Wilfried Zaha following his contract renewal last May. England international Andros Townsend is also on £80,000. It’s possible that the Palace fans would’ve expected a better season from the players with the wages they are getting paid. However, despite some good wins against Arsenal and Liverpool last season, the reality is that they were flirting with relegation for a long time, and had to change their manager mid-way through the season.

2017/18 has been a nightmare for Palace so far. After seven matches they are yet to take as much as a point and haven’t scored a single goal in the Premier League. Manager Frank de Boer was sacked after just four matches, but replacement Roy Hodgson has not faired any better so far. It’s still fairly early, but you have to feel it would take something special for them to repeat last season’s heroics and beat the drop again.
