Recently salary cap of Indian team players increased 25%. The annual pay-scale of category A+ players see an increment Rs 3 Crore to Rs 7 crore. This change in Indian cricketer’s salaries makes them the richest players in the world.
Rohit Sharma is the current skipper of the Indian team in all three formats. He was named as the captain of the Test side after Kohli’s resignation from the captaincy after South Africa’s loss. ODI and T20I captaincy was given to Rohit after T20 World Cup 2021.
The central contract list 2022 was ratified by the Apex Council. Last time, the BCCI had awarded the central contract to 28 cricketers but this year, only 27 have been awarded contracts. Some players moved to lower grades and some players were awarded higher grades.

This time, veteran Test stars Pujara and Rahane were demoted to Grade B after losing the Test spot. Hardik Pandya was also demoted to Grade C after poor form and injury issues.

Tournament Prize Money & Bonus: According to sources 25% of prize money is shared with players and staff. The other prize money was used for the development of Indian cricket. Indian players who scored a century against big teams (Australia, England, South Africa) and arch-rival Pakistan received bonus money with fees. The same goes for the bowlers who took 5 wickets or score a hat-trick in a match earn 25% more fees.
