Arsenal are considering sacking manager Arsene Wenger and are lining up Brendan Rodgers as his replacement according to reports.

Arsene Wenger’s position is to be reviewed at the end of the season and it’s thought the Arsenal owners are leaning towards sacking the Frenchman.

Arsenal suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley and it’s thought this was the final straw. Wenger’s position is also under-threat as Arenal are out of the top four in the Premier league.

The Frenchman signed a new two-year contract at the end of last season after their FA Cup final win against Chelsea.

It’s also understood that if Arsenal fail to win the Europa League then they would put an end to Wenger’s 22-year reign at the club according to the Mirror.

And Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is being lined up as Wenger’s replacement while Joachim Low, Leonardo Jardim and Mikel Arteta are being considered.

Rodgers has worked miracles with Celtic in the last two seasons and they have only lost twice this season.
