Marko Grujic to sign new deal with Liverpool before joining Hertha

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic will sign a new contract with the club before joining Hertha BSC on a season-long loan. The new contract will reportedly keep Grujic at Anfield till 2023.

Grujic joined Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade in 2016 at a reported fee of ÂŁ5.1 million. In his first season with the club, he made only 8 appearances across all competitions. Last season, he made only 6 appearances for the Reds before joining Cardiff City on loan. At Cardiff City, he made 14 appearances and scored one goal against Barnsley.

He also traveled to Russia with the Serbian team for the World Cup. However, he was an unused substitute as Serbia were out in the first round.

Hertha BSC ended 10th in the Bundesliga last season. Pal Dardai’s team will begin their Bundesliga campaign against FC Nurnberg on Saturday.
