SillySeason looks into players who should consider leaving White Hart Lane

With the summer transfer window now getting into full-swing, SillySeason’s next club under the spotlight is Tottenham Hotspur.

We’ll be taking an in-depth look into who could be leaving White Hart Lane this summer in a bid to get back to playing first-team football.

With our ongoing feature of players who should consider where their future lies, we are now turning to Mauricio Pochettino‘s side, after already looking into Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

So now it’s time to look at Spurs’ team and time to highlight five players that should consider leaving White Hart Lane over the summer.

5) Younes Kaboul

With Spurs announcing the signings of central defenders Kevin Wimmer and Toby Alderweireld this summer, it now leaves the club with seven recognised centre-backs. Club captain Younes Kaboul is now likely to be made available for transfer away from the Lane due to the stiff competition that he’ll face in his position come August.

Upon Kaboul’s return to Tottenham following a spell away at Portsmouth, he was a rock in the centre of defence and it looked as though he was able to fill Ledley King‘s boots following his retirement. However, an unfortunate injury ruled him out for a large period of time and he never quite managed to recover the form which he showed prior to his time on the sidelines.

He’s been linked with a move to Watford this summer, where fellow Frenchman Etienne Capoue is now plying his trade following his switch from Spurs earlier last week. Whether Kaboul will stay and fight for his place at Spurs or leave for pastures new is yet unclear, however with the ability of the competition infront of him, he may be looking for pastures new come August.
