Chelsea new player signings 2019
In two seasons, Chelsea has two new managers. Last to last season Chelsea FC sacked Antonio Conte and hired Maurizio Sarri as head coach from Napoli. Sarri chose to take Jorginho who was also from Napoli along with him to Chelsea. It’s said that the deal to sign Sarri was included in the £57 million fees for Jorginho (around £7 million).
Chelsea broke the transfer record for a goalkeeper after signing Kepa Arrizabalaga for £71.6 million- just a couple of weeks after Liverpool had broken the record for signing Allison. The Blues also signed Mateo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid as a makeweight for selling goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid for a cut-price (around £35 m) due to his contract expiring and also due to the Belgian forcing Chelsea’s hand by going AWOL in preseason training.
Chelsea also signed a fine young attacker in the form of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window 2019 for £56.7 million. The player had been then sent on loan to play for the Bundesliga club for the rest of the season and has now joined Chelsea permanently this summer.
The Blues had also brought a significant name in the form of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus on loan for the rest of the season. The 31-year-old Argentine had been brought into the side as the replacement for the out-of-favour striker Alvaro Morata, who had been sent on loan to play for Atletico Madrid.
This season things have changed a lot. The Blues team have a transfer ban on them. Gonzalo Higuain’s loan has expired and he has been sent back to Juventus. Alvaro Morata is still away from the club as he once again on loan at Atletico Madrid who will pay Chelsea over 50m next summer to sign him permanently.
Chelsea have only been able to make one new signing this season which is that of Mateo Kovacic as they have brought him in on a permanent move from Real Madrid. Otherwise it has only been loan players like Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi, etc.

Chelsea FC new players 2019/20
Due to their transfer ban, the only new player they have been able to sign is Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid on loan and that too because he was already on the Chelsea roster due to a loan spell with the club and was not considered a new addition to the Blues’s squad. They have recalled most of their academy graduates and new boss Frank Lampard is doing a brilliant job with them.

Let us take a look at the last few seasons of Chelsea.
2018-19 was a mixed season for the Blues. They got great success in the Europa League as they won it, they also reached the finals of the Carling Cup and finished third in the Premier League.
Who can they sign next season:
Ben Chilwell: The Leicester City left back has done brilliantly well for themselves. He has established himself as one of the starters in Leicester City and also plays now for England as well. Chilwell has the quality to come into a top side like Chelsea and fit in.
Philippe Coutinho: The unsettled Brazilian left from Barcelona left for Bayern Munich this summer. If his loan move, does not bear fruit, Chelsea would be very interested in his services. Having not spent any money for a year, they will have the budgets to bring in Coutinho.
Mauro Icardi: Another player who is on loan at PSG, he is also unwanted at Inter Milan. Chelsea have Tammy Abraham firing on all cylinders now, but should he fail to sustain his form, Chelsea will go forward hunting and Icardi could be an option.
Emre Can: The German left for Juventus but his move has failed. With only Jorginho, Kovacic and Kante as deep lying midfield playmakers, Chelsea will want to add depth to the squad and getting him would be a smart buy.
Kalidou Koulibaly: The defence remains a problem for the Blues, something Koulibaly can solve easily. He will however, not come for cheap.
