2. Keylor Navas
Triple Champions League-winning goalkeeper Keylor Navas joined Paris St Germain on a four-year deal from Real Madrid. He leaves Spain as a Real Madrid legend. The Costa Rican will always be remembered as the goalkeeper for Los Blancos’ three consecutive Champions League triumphs.
All of the club’s recent glory came with Keylor between the sticks, something that Zinedine Zidane has always recognized. Real Madrid’s intention back at the time was to bring Keylor in as Iker Casillas’ backup for the following season before moving for David de Gea the year after. However, they got much more than they bargained for. In his 162 games for the Spanish giants, Keylor conceded just 159 goals.
1. Mauro Icardi
Paris Saint-Germain agreed a deal to sign troubled Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi on a season-long loan with the option to buy.The Argentine forward, 26, will link up with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in a lethal attack that also boats Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria. Icardi has also signed a contract extension that extends his terms to 2022.
He was told earlier this summer that he was surplus to requirements at the San Siro by new boss Antonio Conte. Inter then backed up their words with action as they splashed €78 million on Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku. Icardi’s move brings an end to a summer of speculation concerning the former Inter Milan captain. He was stripped of the captaincy in February and did not feature again until 3 April.
