6. Radamel Falcao
Ahead of his landmark transfer to reigning Turkish champions Galatasaray, Monaco had refused to extend the 33-year-old’s contract, which was due to expire in one year. More than 25,000 flag-waving, cheering fans welcomed Falcao in Istanbul on Sunday, as the striker arrived to sign his new deal with Turkey’s most decorated side.
5. Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Henrikh Mkhitaryan completed a season-long loan move from Arsenal to Roma. The Italian club will pay a loan fee and the 30-year-old’s wages, but there is no option or obligation to buy the Armenia international.
The 30-year-old midfielder came on as a second-half substitute in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham before flying to Italy’s capital the following morning to undergo a medical with the Serie A giants. Mkhitaryan started just 19 league matches last term and has only managed nine goals in all competitions since his move from Manchester United in January 2018. He scored nine goals in 59 appearances for Arsenal.
