Carlos Alcaraz began his service preparation from the Court Philippe-Chatrier baseline by taking a deep, long breath as he confronted the agonizing reality of being three championship points behind the world’s top player. There was no reason for the majority of previous tennis players in history to have any hope of anything other than losing.
But in the brief time he has spent playing in the most important matches in his sport, Alcaraz has demonstrated that he is unique; this is evident in the way he plays tennis and the steadfast belief that drives his success. In an unearthly battle, Alcaraz rallied and pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the sport, stunningly defeating world No.1 Jannik Sinner 4-6, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (10-2) after five hours and 29 minutes to reclaim his French Open title in Paris.
He has tough competition from players who can always pull off a coup, like Casper Ruud, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, and Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz, however, has a title to defend and some strong points to make on his preferred surface.
Rather, Jannik Sinner (2.50) is expected to lose against Carlos Alcaraz (2.00), the overwhelming favorite to win this year’s championship. Watch & Bet on Tennis Live =>
Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff finally won the 2025 French Open!
Since the Open era began in 1968, Alcaraz is just the third guy to win a major final after saving a championship point. Alcaraz, 22, won his fifth major championship. He now shares the sport’s six previous major victories with 23-year-old Sinner, the top-ranked player in Italy.
It was the first Grand Slam men’s final to include two players born in the 2000s, and Sunday’s match broke the mark for the longest French Open final in history.
Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4 to win her first French Open championship, demonstrating the full extent of her tenacity and resilience across the net from the world’s best player at one of the most significant moments of her career.
According to the betting companies, it was Carlos Alcaraz (1.9) who was tipped to take home the victory, with contenders such as Jannik Sinner (2.1). On the women’s side, it was Iga Swiatek (3.40) who was tipped to win but Coco Gauff (4.00) is on her heels. Watch & Bet on Tennis Live =>

This is how the 2025 French Open ended
Alcaraz made a valiant effort, but he was unable to stop Sinner’s momentum as the Italian took a two-set lead. Nevertheless, he continued. He urged the audience to support him frequently during the third set. His level went up and his head cleared as he recovered the break and rolled to a 5-2 lead. Alcaraz cupped his ears to the audience and allowed their admiration to wash over him as he ended the set with a break for 6-4 to maintain his chances.
With a 5-3 lead and a triple championship point on Alcaraz’s serve, Sinner swiftly regained control in the fourth set. The Spaniard’s steadfast focus was drawn to the moment, which was one point from the end of his reign at Roland Garros, with the spectators seemingly cheering him on.
Before slamming the door shut with a scorching forehand winner, he carefully eliminated the match points with every shot, playing with care and discipline. When Sinner’s first serve and legs failed, he responded with an incredible return game. Alcaraz quickly changed the match’s momentum from 3-5, 0-40, to 6-5. Alcaraz pumped his fists in the air as he made his way back to his place at the change of ends.
