This is the biggest football derby in Turkey and one of the Biggest Football Derbies in Europe. The Rivalry between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce is one of the biggest derbies in world football and its no doubt that it makes the list of the Top 10 Biggest Derbies in European Football. Sometimes the final result in the match between the two teams sometimes means more than the final standings of each team respectively in the Turkish Super League. This mouth watering derby is located in the city of Istanbul and the two clubs are separated by a sea. The first Gala-Fener was played in 1934 which was a friendly was cancelled due to the break out of riots in the capital. In 2009 the British Daily Mail voted the Derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce as the 2nd greatest rivalry of all times.
