1. Tiemoue Bakayoko
From the top all the way to very nearly rock bottom. That’s what Tiemoue Bakayoko has gone through in the space off a couple years. The 25-year-old France midfielder joined the Blues from the then-Ligue 1 champions in July 2017 but struggled to make an impression and was sent on loan to AC Milan for the 2018-19 campaign.
At AC Milan alone, he went from zero to savior, before his time on loan ended in racial abuse from opposing fans and personal conflict with the head coach, Gennaro Gattuso, who was subsequently sacked as well after the team’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.
It is quite unfortunate that things did not work out between Bakayoko and Chelsea, especially after the Blues invested heavily in him as the eventual successor to Nemanja Matic. Matic left a season too soon, forcing Bakayoko into action far too soon, both physically and mentally. Watch & Bet Football Live >25
